Diabetes can happen to anybody no matter your age, place or genetic history. However, you don’t have to worry because the condition can be controlled with a little bit of awareness and care.
A regular yoga practice can help to reduce the level of sugar in the blood, along with lowering blood pressure, keeping your weight in check and reducing the symptoms and slowing the rate and progression of diabetes as well as lessening the severity of more complications.
Stress is one of the major reasons of diabetes. It increases glucagon hormones in the body. Consistent practice of yoga asanas and breathing exercises along with a few minutes of daily meditation can help reduce stress in the mind and body. This will reduce glucagons and also help improve insulin action.
Yoga is also proven to reduce weight as well as controling increasing weight, which is important to keep diabetes in check.
Diabetes can be worsened with the occurance of high blood pressure or hypertension. Different yoga asanas such as bridge pose, corpse pose and child’s pose are all great positions to control hypertension.
Below I have posted a picture of a routine you can do at home to help with diabetes if you have it yourself or know of someone that does. I hope that you find it helpful!
Much love to all of you!
