Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

Fall is in the air and what better way to celebrate than with a delicious pumpkin protein smoothie! This smoothie is an autumn favorite with pumpkin purèe, pumpkin spice and cinnamon. It really captures the taste of the season. The pumpkin purèe is an excellent source of fiber. Fiber aids in digestion and helps your body absorb essential nutrients from the foods you are consuming. Pumpkin purèe also contains a healthy dose of potassium, which also aids in digestion. It might as well be called the digestion smoothie! Another reason to add this ingredient is because it supports your immune system. Vitamin A and iron are found here, helping with keeping your eyes, bones and teeth healthy. So enjoy this seasonal smoothie and keep your immune system in check, especially as the temperatures start to drop.

2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup pumpkin purèe
1 cup baby kale
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon cacao powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon chia seeds

Place all ingredients into a blender until smooth. Enjoy!
