Many people think just because you can satisfy your sweet tooth without the calories that artificial sweetners are the perfect healthy solution.. when in reality that’s totally false! There are a few things you should know about these artificial sweeteners before you switch over to using these in your morning coffee and teas.

1. Aspartame which is in brands such as Equal, DiabetiSweet and NutraSweet is a common chemical sweetner that can lead to side effects such as hallucinations, seizures and brain tumors.

2. Sucralose which is in Splenda has been known to enlarge both the liver and kidneys and shrink the thymus glands. Splenda can cause skin rashes, diarrhea, panic, headaches, stomach pain, bladder issues and more.

Some studies show that these sweetners can also lead to cancer. Should something as serious as cancer really be overlooked? Its just not worth it.

Here are some things you can do instead of using these artificial sweeteners.
Turn to natural sweeteners for your drinks and food. Organic maple syrup, molasses, date sugar, coconut sugar, pure cane sugar, brown rice syrup, stevia, and honey are a few great ones to try. You will still be getting the sweetness you would be receiving from the artificial sugars but in a more natural and healthier way.
